Main Purpose of the job:



To provide maintenance support to all departments of the facility. To assist the Maintenance Manager in the identification, selection and supply of new equipment.



At all times promote and contribute to Continuous improvement activities throughout the department encouraging, supporting, developing & motivating co workers at all times.



Main Responsibilities:



Maintaining -



Plastic injection moulding machinery.

Ancillary equipment for injection moulding machinery.

Material dryers.

Hot Runners.

Water heaters.

Nitrogen generators and compressors.

Air compressors.

Hydraulics & Pneumatics.



Plus –



Installation of plant and machinery.

Diagnosing, locating and rectifying faults on a wide range of equipment.

Have a working knowledge of Planned maintenance software

Ability to carry out planned maintenance programmes to ensure optimum working.

Ability to liaise with external bodies’ i. e. suppliers, technical departments etc.

Control of spares.

Identify maximum and minimum requirements.

Ordering of spares when necessary..



Skill base:



Have served a recognised apprenticeship in a mechanical/electrical discipline.

Have gained recognised qualifications in electrics, City & Guilds Part “A” & Part II

City & Guilds Part “C” (Electrical Installations)

City & Guilds 16th Edition of IEE wiring regulations.

Be computer literate in Word, Excel, Powerpoint Etc.

Attended at least one course on Plastic Injection Moulding machines.
